    Malpractice?

I have congestive heart failure, I owe my Doctor's $120.00. Is it legal for the Doctor to refuse to give me refill perscriptions because I owe him money? I had to recently go the the emergency room because of my CHF because I ran out of my medication.

  2. I think it is legal. He is under no obligation to work for free. On the other hand, if you just fell behind a little bit, it doesn't sound like good business.

Any doctors out there know a better answer?

  3. I have since talked to a few medical professionals who say this is a sticky wicket... and that the doc maybe violating a duty of care if the medicine is critical.
